• The first meeting of Putin and Poroshenko lasted two hours

  • The first meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has ended. It lasted about two hours, reports ITAR-TASS.

    Poroshenko has left the building of the Palace of independence in Minsk, where he passed his talks with Putin. Contrary to the expectations of journalists, Poroshenko has chosen not to make any statements after the meeting, and briskly headed for the exit.

    From the Palace Poroshenko went to the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk. It is assumed that there he will meet with representatives of Ukrainian media.

    The presidents in the capital of Belarus began after consultations in the format of the Customs Union - Ukraine - European Union, which took place on Tuesday, 26 August, and were devoted to the interaction of CU with Kiev in the signing by Ukraine of an Association agreement with the EU.

    As previously stated the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the summit participants agreed that Minsk will be a negotiating forum for the contact group in Ukraine.
