• Kyiv and Donetsk exchanged prisoners

  • The self-proclaimed militia Donetsk national Republic and Kiev authorities in the framework of the Minsk agreements exchanged prisoners of war. It is reported "Interfax" with reference to the Ministry of defence DND.

    Representatives from DND gave Ukraine 36 prisoners, receiving in exchange 31 of the militia. Another five people Kyiv side, as stated in Donetsk, promised to pass on Friday.

    An agreement about the exchange of prisoners was reached between the authorities of Ukraine and representatives of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk national republics in consultation contact group on the crisis in the East of Ukraine, which took place on 5 September in Minsk.

    Kiev and militias have repeatedly accused each other of delaying the process of exchange. In Donetsk argued that the authorities in Kiev do not provide the list of detainees supporters DND and LNR. In the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine claimed that the process breaks down because of the inconsistency of the militia who are not always go to those conditions, which first put forward".

    According to the head of the Ukrainian Center for the exchange of prisoners of Vladimir Ruban, in captivity remains little more than a thousand employees of the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. On Thursday, the first Deputy Prime Minister DND Andrey Burgin stated RIA Novosti, the list of prisoners of security forces can be adjusted.
