The state Duma withdrew the presidential bill on simplified citizenship to children whose one parent is a citizen of Russia. For this decision at the plenary session voted 333 deputies, against — 45, the correspondent of "Tape.ru".
"Dear colleagues, let's assume that it's our fault, we with you a legislative initiative, which had a concept, went ahead and changed beyond recognition," said speaker of the lower house of Parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin. He stressed that for the development of a similar document "from scratch" was made by the presidential envoy to the Duma Harry Minh.
The presidential draft of amendments to the law "On citizenship of the Russian Federation" was made to the state Duma in 2012. He was accepted in all readings, however, the Federation Council rejected the document because introduced by deputies of the amendments that have changed the concept of the original project, said a member of the Committee on state construction and legislation, Tatyana Kasaeva. In particular, it was about a paragraph obliging the child from a mixed family on reaching the age to choose one nationality.
The head of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov (Communist party) protested the decision to withdraw the bill, saying it will cause confusion among compatriots: "tomorrow the Whole world will know that we made this, we need a law". Volodin, in turn, recalled that it happened because of an error of the state Duma deputies of the previous convocation, the time has not fulfilled the requirement of the Federation Council.
Deputy head of Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin ("United Russia"), in turn, noted that the compatriots living abroad, really "long ago" asking to simplify the procedure of obtaining citizenship for children from mixed marriages, but that's no reason to take unconstitutional bill.
17 Feb Zatulin made for the consideration of the lower house of Parliament, to provide Russian citizenship to children of mixed marriages without taking into account the views of the parent-foreigner. Similar amendments prescribed in respect of the adoptive parents.
