Designer Victoria Beckham received the order of the British Empire from the hands of Prince William, writes BBC News. The ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace in London.
Beckham lives and works in the US but was born and spent most of his life in the UK. She was noted for her contribution to the fashion industry and received the title of officer of the order of the British Empire.
"Visit today at Buckingham Palace — an absolute pleasure," said the designer. She added that she is proud of her nationality, but receiving the order of her honour.
Beckham also noted that her success would not have been possible without the love and support from family. The event was attended by her parents and husband, former England international David Beckham. He received a similar award in 2004 from the hands of Queen Elizabeth II.
