• Vasilyev supported the introduction of a mandatory exam for geography

  • The Minister of education and science Olga Vasilyeva has supported the initiative of introduction of obligatory unified state exam in geography. The head of the Department said at the Second all-Russian Congress of geography teachers, reports TASS.

    According to the Minister, this initiative should thoroughly discuss from the point of view of financial costs. "The study of geography at school needs to be well equipped, teachers should be the whole list of necessary tools of learning" — said Vasiliev, adding that the problem of insufficient equipment is typical not only for the geography.

    In late August, Minister of education and science said, that the existing system of the unified state examinations necessary to perform. "We have to see what is really going on, to take the best, discard what is not worth taking on, and go forward," she said.

    Beginning in 2009, high school graduates pass the two required final exams: Russian language and mathematics. While this 11th grader must obtain a rating not below established by Rosobrnadzor. Also, students may take some additional examinations: their results are not vlyayut on the rating certificate, but necessary for admission to universities.
