• In the security Council questioned the need to discuss the burial of Lenin

  • The Russian security Council is unlikely to consider the appeal of the head of the Communist party Gennady Zyuganov with the verification requirement of the bill for the burial of Vladimir Lenin. This was stated by security Council permanent members, the head of the foreign intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, reports RIA Novosti on Friday, April 21.

According to Naryshkin, the idea of burial of the body of the leader of the revolution require careful evaluation and must be considered. "I think we need to think carefully. Need more time to gauge the reaction of certain parts of our society," — said the head of the SVR.

Earlier Wednesday, the leader of the Communists said, what the bill is about the legal mechanism of burial of Lenin is the biggest provocation against the Russian state. He stated that the document needs to consider the members of the security Council and give the Communist party an official response.

The bill "About burial and funeral business" was made for the consideration of the lower house of Parliament deputies from fractions of LDPR and "United Russia" before. In particular, the MPs propose to make mandatory the creation of interdepartmental commissions when solving the issue of reburial of the remains of historical figures. Separately stands out the question of the burial of the body of Vladimir Lenin.

Later that same day, the United Russia Evgeny Marchenko, Nikolay Brykin and Vitaly Bakhmetyev withdrew their signatures under the bill.

The Communists subjected the document to sharp criticism. So, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist party, state Duma Deputy Valery Rashkin said, that initiative was undertaken with the aim "to introduce discord in society". Director Vladimir Bortko, is also a member of the Duma fraction of the Communist party, expressed confidence that the bill will be rejected. He noted that the proposal for the burial of Lenin "not only offends the memory of a great man, but also makes a totally unnecessary now a split in society."
