Secretary of the Sevastopol regional branch of the party "United Russia" (EP) Boris Kolesnikov has denied allegations that deputies from the EP pressured to support only certain candidates. On Thursday, July 13, reports press service of the city branch of the party.
"About the alleged cases of such "pressure", we learn only from unsubstantiated claims. Outside the fertile imagination of their authors about these facts no one knows anything", — said Kolesnikov.
He urged all candidates "to pass the municipal filter in the first place to rely on his own authority among the citizens of Sevastopol". "This can be achieved in daily work, constant contact with people, knowledge of the problems of the city, the presence and effective implementation of programme," suggested Kolesnikov.
On the same day in the Public chamber of Sevastopol passed workshop on elections of the Governor which will take place on September 10. The event was attended by member of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation, the Director of noncommercial Fund "the Study of the problems of democracy" Maxim Grigoriev.
"In the modern history of Sevastopol for the first time the Governor is elected by popular vote (...). I have no doubt that the elections will be fair and open, since the authorities of the city like nobody else are interested in this is a reputation moment", — said Grigoriev.
In June, acting Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov first filed documents for registration as a candidate for Governor from the party "United Russia". "Now comes the period in which I will try to prove that I'm the one candidate for whom to vote", — he said.
