In Norilsk on Tuesday, November 1, opened ethnic festival dedicated to the meeting of winter and the beginning of the polar night the "Big Argish". This is the official portal In Krasnoyarsk region.
The event will be held small festivals: literary, photographic "Objective past", deli "Argish-GURME" and travel "Vacation on the Taimyr Peninsula".
"The highlight of the festival will be ethno-camp with traditional tents of the peoples of the Taimyr Peninsula with thematic entertainment programs for guests", — stated in the message of administration. The guests will be acquainted with the rites, legends and tales of the Northern peoples, learn about their life, culture and language. Visitors of "Big Caravan" will be able to participate in the national sports games: throwing of the mouth, stick pulling, jumping over the sled, and ride with reindeer and huskies.
The festival will culminate in a theatrical production of "the legend of the strongest man," based on the legends of the ethnic groups of Taimyr.
The event will last until November 19. This year the "Big Argish" is held for the fourth time. The festival was organized with the participation of the administration of Norilsk, the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets municipal district and Dudinka, the company "Norilsk Nickel".
