• In Kiev announced the holding of a masquerade prostitutes on independence

  • In the capital of Ukraine, March 3, held a rally of sex workers against fines for prostitution. Participants of the action will protest at the Verkhovna Rada on the Independence square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti), the Cabinet of Ministers and the presidential Administration.     "Elimination of fines is the first step towards the legalization of prostitution," said the organizers. According to them, prostitution is the same as everyone else. They say that this business is legal in most European countries.

    The main requirement of the protesters will be the exception to the code of Ukraine on administrative offences article providing responsibility for prostitution. "We want to remove the fines, so the girls lost the fear of blackmail and corrupt police," — said the activists. They added that due to the possible persecution of the participants of the March will be forced to hide their faces behind masks.

    In may 2016 prostitutes of Kazakhstan addressed the President Nursultan Nazarbayev in an open letter. In the appeal it was noted that due to the fall in oil prices "shrinks the market for commercial sex." "The clientele is impoverished. We increasingly have to work in unsanitary conditions, in doorways and cars!" — the workers of the sex industry.

    They also complained of "wild competition from girls from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, working illegally", which, among other things, aggravate the situation of sexually transmitted diseases in the country.

    In April 2016, the head of the Department for combating drug trafficking of the MIA of Ukraine Ilya Kiva said, in the country's capital of prostitution. "Kyiv is a large public house. All strip clubs are brothels," said Kiva, adding that he had no time to use the services of prostitutes. "There's no time to this work," he complained.
