• Ukraine will sharply increase gas production for self-sufficiency

  • Ukraine intends to increase gas production by 35 percent, from 20 to 27 billion cubic meters a year to become self-sufficient. On Thursday, 3 November, said the Chairman of "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Andrey Kobelev in an interview with Bloomberg, reports TASS.

    According to the head of "Naftogaz", the drilling of the first well was carried out in cooperation with European partners. "The company [is a subsidiary company of Naftogaz] will stop the years of decline in production to prepare the ground for the great increase in 2017," — said Kobolyev.

    KOBOLEV said that the production volumes will increase without the use of hydraulic fracturing technology (fracking) of the shale reservoir. "We are not planning to engage in shale gas. We plan to use available modern technology to effectively produce conventional gas", — quotes its words a press-service of "Naftogaz of Ukraine".

It is composed of Shebelynka gas refining plant, enterprises on production of liquefied petroleum gas, a network of 18 stations in Kharkiv region. 100 percent of the shares of the company owned by the company Naftogaz of Ukraine.
