• The Amsterdam court received the appeal of the Crimean museums in the case of the Scythian gold

  • The court of appeal of Amsterdam received a complaint of museums of the Crimea to the decision on the transfer of Kiev exhibits of the exhibition "Crimea: Gold and secrets of the Black sea", known as Scythian gold. This is the official representative instance Ron van Leeuwen announced TASS on Friday, April 21.

"Date of the public hearing on this case is not appointed yet", — said van Leeuwen. According to him, the time of the new session will be known in a few months.

In January it was reported, that the Crimean museums filed a notice of appeal in the district court of Amsterdam, a month earlier ruled to give the Scythian gold Ukraine. The decision noted that the Crimea is not a sovereign state and therefore can not name the archaeological artifacts to their cultural heritage.

The dispute over the Scythian gold between Kiev and Simferopol began in 2014, after the Crimea became part of Russia. The exhibition "Crimea: Gold and secrets of the Black sea" was held in the Allard Pierson Museum in the Netherlands.
