The Railways has completed construction and installation works on the new railway line bypassing Ukraine zhuravka — Millerovo and the beginning of commissioning, and test operation of individual sections of the new branches. This is stated in the press release of Russian Railways.
According to the document, the final commissioning and opening of passenger trains on the line is planned for the end of autumn 2017.
In April reported that the construction of a double track electrified railway line on the zhuravka — Millerovo will be completed by 1 August.
The construction of a branch to bypass Ukraine began in 2014. The corresponding decree was signed Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on 21 September 2015.
In the framework of the project in the Rostov and Voronezh oblasts is planned to build seven new stations: Zaitsivka, Sergeevka, Sokhranovka, Kuteynikovo, Vinogradovka, Wells and Bochenkova, and reconstruct the station zhuravka.
In the Railways said earlier that the new railway will increase the capacity of the infrastructure to ensure transport security of freight and passenger traffic.
