• Russian Shirobokov won a silver medal in race walking events at the world Cup

  • Russian Sergey Shirobokov won a silver medal in competitions on sports walking on 20 kilometres at the world Championships in athletics in London. On Sunday, August 13, the correspondent "reports Tapes.ru".

    The athlete overcame the distance in 1 hour, 18 minutes, 55 seconds. First place went to the Colombian Eider arévalo, who walked 20 kilometres in 1 hour 18 minutes 53 seconds. The bronze medal went to Brazilian Cayo Bagimu (1 hour 19 minutes 4 seconds).

    Earlier, on 13 August a Russian woman Claudia Afanasyev was acquitted by the judges with the same distance for three warnings. Won the Chinese Jia Yu Yang.

    12 Aug Russian high jumper height Maria Laecken won gold medal at the world Championships. In the finals she won with a score of 2.03 meters.

    A day earlier the Russians Darya Klishina and Valery Pronkin won silver medal of the world championship. Klishina became the second in the long jump, Pronkin in the hammer throw.

    The world championship will end on August 13.
