Russian hammer thrower Valery Pronkin took second place at the world Championships in athletics in London. About it the correspondent "Tapes.ru".
The finals of the hammer throwers was held on Friday evening, August 11. The gold medal was won by the pole, Paul Fidak, who threw a projectile at 79 meters 81 centimeters. Pronkin sent the hammer 78 meters 16 centimeters. Third place went to compatriot Videka Wojciech Nowicki (78 meters 3 centimeters).
Earlier on August 11 Russian Daria Klishina won silver medal in competitions in the long jump. Champion was American Brittney Reese, bronze went to her compatriot Tianna Bartoletta.
Klishina, Pronkin and 17 euros annually in London under a neutral flag due to suspension of the all-Russian Federation of athletics associations (vfla).
The world championship will end on August 13.
