The trade Union Chairman of "Transaero" Dmitry Saverin denied information about a possible resumption of the activities of the bankrupt airline. He said this Rambler News Service.
"We have this information (about the resumption of the activities) since the summer. It is known that the details gradually, slowly being worked out. But concrete action, I still have not seen," he said. Savishin stressed that at this stage it is "a rumor, nothing more".
Earlier, on 2 November it became known that the issue of the reopening of "Transaero" included in the agenda of the absentee meeting of the Board of Directors. The vote on this issue will be held from 4 to 11 November. Information about the possible resumption of the activities of the air carrier provoked sharp growth of cost of actions "Transaero", which are traded on the Moscow exchange. Their value increased by 50 per cent and reached in-session level of 5.83 roubles per paper.
"Transaero", the former second largest volume of traffic of the Russian airlines, went bankrupt due to high debt load (more than 250 billion rubles, including lease payments and 85 billion debt to banks) against the background of falling demand for flights. The carrier came under the operational control of "Aeroflot" in the beginning of last September, and 26 October the Rosaviation revoked operator certificate.
In December the court has satisfied the claim of Sberbank and launched in "Transaero" monitoring procedure — preliminary stage of bankruptcy. To recognize the failure of the air carrier in court also demanded the Federal tax service, VTB and Alfa-Bank.
