The Russian government has nominated the Minister of energy Alexander Novak and the Chairman of the Committee of shareholders of Nord Stream AG Gerhard Schroeder as candidates to the Board of Directors of "Rosneft". Full list of candidates is contained in a, published on the website of the Cabinet.
"With regard to the proposal from PJSC "NC "Rosneft"" on the feasibility of increasing the size of the Board of Directors to 11 people signed approved a new list of candidates for election as representatives of the Russian Federation and independent Directors in the Board of Directors of PJSC "Rosneft", — the document says.
In total from Russia put forward seven candidates.
A new Board of Directors the shareholders of the company was chosen in June, however, energy Minister Alexander Novak did not enter into it. As noted by the head of "Rosneft" Igor Sechin, Minister of energy refused their votes in the elections to the Council in favor of independent Directors.
At the same time, Rosneft has proposed to expand the Board of Directors from 9 to 11.
The main shareholder of Rosneft is Rosneftegaz, which owns 50,00000001 percent stake in NK. Another 19.75% owned by BP, 19.5 percent of the company QHG Oil Ventures. The package is 19.5% of the shares in December last year, bought a consortium of Swiss trader Glencore and sovereign wealth Fund Qatar Qatar Investment Autority). One share belongs to the state represented by Rosimushchestvo, the remaining shares are in free float.
