• Ovsyannikov was awarded the order "For merits before Fatherland" II degree

  • Acting Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov awarded the medal of the order "For merits before Fatherland" II degree. This is stated in the press release of the city government, submitted to "the Tape.ru" on Tuesday, March 14.

    As noted in the press release about the award Ovsyannikov said the presidential envoy in the southern Federal district Vladimir Ustinov in the beginning of the meeting in Astrakhan, which was held on Tuesday.

    "The medal of the order "For merits before Fatherland" II degree awarded to citizens for implementation of specific and useful for the country Affairs in industry and agriculture, construction and transport, science and education, health and culture, as well as in other areas of work", — stated in the message. It is also noted that this state award is given in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

    6 Mar experts of Fund "the Petersburg policy" appreciated the work of the acting head of Sevastopol. They noted that Ovsyannikov has successfully replaced the previous mayor, he knows the agenda is a public figure.

    In November, 2016, the legislative Assembly adopted the law on the direct election of the Governor. According to the new rule, the mayor will be elected by popular vote for five years.
