The organizers of the international music festival "Opera in the Chersonese" will hold 18 of August for a charity concert. On Wednesday, August 9 reports the press service of the government of Sevastopol.
The head of Fund "the New Republic", the organizer of the festival is Oleg Berkovich said that the concert will be given specially to veterans, honorary citizens and honoured workers of culture of the region. "We are very pleased that the leadership of the city provided an opportunity to introduce residents and guests to the great art of music, to acquaint with the best works of Russian and foreign Opera classics performed by artists from around the world. And all this at the amazing site of the ancient Tauric Chersonesos", — he stressed.
The Director of the state historical-archaeological Museum-reserve "Chersonese" Svetlana Melnikova, in turn, pointed out that "the reserve supports the trends of the world's leading museums, which tend to be more open and integrated into the local culture and social life." "To host such a significant event — it is a great honor. Therefore, we gladly provide a platform for additional reserve gala concert," she added.
Invited artist of the Bolshoi theatre Veronika Dzhioeva said that pleased to have the opportunity to "experience the magical atmosphere of the ancient theater, where scenery will be the columns of the ancient Basilica of Hersonissos and the sea".

The festival "Opera in the Chersonese" pass with the support of the government of Sevastopol, on August 19-20 at the territory of ancient Chersonesos. The event will be attended by famous Russian and foreign Opera singers. On the stage in the ancient city-Museum under the open sky will be filled with arias from classic productions.
