  • The court in St. Petersburg sentenced a local resident Igor Martynov to 8.5 years in a strict regime colony for killing girlfriend with sulfuric acid. On Wednesday, November 2 reported the press service of city Prosecutor's office.

    He was found guilty of committing a crime under article 111 of the criminal code of Russian Federation("Deliberate causing of heavy harm to health, entailed on imprudence death of the person").

    The defendant fully admitted his guilt. He told investigators that the motive for the crime was jealousy.

    Russian TV presenter Dana Borisova in 2014 filed a statement to the police on her ex-young man — businessman Alexey Pankov, who she claims threatened to douse it with sulfuric acid.
