• Norilsk Nickel will reduce harmful emissions by 80 percent by 2023

  • "Nornikel" launches a project on utilization of sulphur dioxide at the Nadezhda metallurgical plant. According to the plans, by 2023 the number of harmful emissions will be reduced by 80 percent, said RIA Novosti a specialist project office for project implementation Andrew severylov.

    According to him, until the end of the year, the company will develop a strategy for the disposal. Experts consider two options: the production of elemental sulfur or sulfuric acid and its subsequent neutralization.

    15 Mar Norilsk Nickel won the Grand Prix for environmental responsibility at the all-Russian competition "Russian business Leaders: dynamics and responsibility — 2016" organized by the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP). The company also took first place in the nomination "For the support and development of social entrepreneurship".

    The Nadezhda metallurgical plant processes all Nickel raw materials of the polar division of "Norilsk Nickel". They built a new production capture sulfur dioxide, the installation of drying the ore and Sandstone, the site of drying of the concentrate flash smelting furnace modernized and made more.
