• Found the inspiration for captain Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean"

  • The prototype of the hero of the franchise "pirates of the Caribbean" captain Jack Sparrow became a pirate Jack ward. The similarity of the character to the historical person who found the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah.

    Ward was born in England in the mid-1550's. He became famous as a legendary pirate. Ward converted to Islam during the expedition to Tunisia. The captain was obsessed with birds, and for this he was given the nickname "Sparrow". The last years of his life he served the Ottoman Empire.

    Mention of Ward is in the travel notes Scottish author and traveller William Lithgow. He noted that the pirate was a heavy drinker, but after accepting Islam, stopped drinking alcohol. According to Lithgow, ward also wore the turban.

    Ward is also dedicated to the play of 1612 "a Christian turned Turk" (A Christian Turn Turk d) the English playwright Robert Daborn. In it the author talks about how the pirate had converted to Islam.

    Captain Jack Sparrow is the protagonist of the film series "pirates of the Caribbean". Epic includes four ribbons. The fifth and final part, entitled "pirates of the Caribbean: Dead men tell no tales" will be released on may 26.
