  • On the archipelago Franz-Joseph in August of 2017 will host a expedition in search of the schooner "St. Anna", went missing in 1914. About the Agency RIA Novosti told development Director of the club "Zhivaya Priroda" Marina Paci.

    "We plan in the August expedition to Franz Joseph. We have two tasks — the burial of the remains of the man found in 2010, and search places, where he could throw the schooner "St. Anna"," says Patsy.

    It is planned that the yacht with the search team members will depart from Naryan-Mar to late July, and by August 4 will arrive on the archipelago. The expedition will last until August 25.

    "The remains are scheduled to be delivered from the island of Alexandra Land island on the Land of George to the place of detection of remains. To conduct the burial is planned to invite representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, officials. At the burial site will be a memorial sign," added Patsy.

    Earlier it was reported that Franz Joseph planned the establishment of a Museum under the open sky "a Living history of the Arctic". The Museum is a model of the first Soviet polar station, the surviving examples of cars, vehicles and aircraft of those years and the elements of wildlife of the region and other installations.
