• Medina will open the exhibition "War and myths" in Arkhangelsk

  • The head of the Ministry of culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky will take part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition "War and myths" in the Northern (Arctic) University in Arkhangelsk. This writes the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on Friday, April 28.

    The exhibition, organized by the Russian military historical society, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the battle of Moscow. In November it opened in the capital's Central exhibition hall "Manege". In Arkhangelsk the ceremony will take place on 8 may.

    It is noted that part of the exhibition will be a model of the warship that accompanied during the great Patriotic war Arctic convoys. Also the exhibition will show model of the hospital is deployed in Arkhangelsk during the war.

    The Arctic convoys of the Second world war took place from Britain and the United States to the Northern ports of the USSR — Arkhangelsk and Murmansk. It was held on 78 convoys, which in the framework of lend-lease was delivered to the Soviet Union important military materials.
