• Medina called the records of the Russian cinema in 2016

  • Absolute charges Russian films in 2016 amounted to 8.6 billion rubles. This was announced by the Minister of culture of Russia Vladimir Medina at a press conference at the end of the Year movie, reports TASS.

    "This is a record for all time the Russian cinema, starting in the 1990s," — said the head of Department. According to him, compared to last year, fees rose by more than a billion rubles.

    Medina added that national cinema "has established itself in the Chinese market," also increased worldwide distribution of Russian films.

    7 October 2015, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on declaring 2016 the year of Russian cinema. The aim of the project was staged to attract attention to Russian cinema.
