• Manturov told about the new engine for Sino-Russian liner

  • Russia and China will jointly develop heavy-duty engine for the new wide-body passenger aircraft (SFDMS). This was in the context of the air show Airshow China in 2016, said Minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov, reports the correspondent of".ru".

    "We discussed the prospects of creation of the engine on the basis of our work on PD-35. To mitigate risk we intend to use the latest developments in PD-14 and engines for fighter aircraft," — said Manturov.

    According to him, the rated power should be not less than 33 tons, the maximum is 40. "We welcome the request of the Chinese side to participate in the development of the engine and will contribute to making corporate decisions about it," he said.

    The Memorandum on establishment of wide-body passenger aircraft was signed in April 2014, according to RIA Novosti. According to the plan, a new liner with a capacity of 250-300 passengers must compete with similar Airbus and Boeing.
