• Logo Heineken red star was threatened with a ban in Hungary

  • The Hungarian Parliament is discussing a bill prohibiting the use of the national socialist and Communist symbols for commercial purposes. About it reports TASS with reference to the Agency Austria Presse Agentur.

    It is noted that the black list might be the logo of Dutch brewery Heineken — red five-pointed star.

    The Hungarian Parliament also considers objectionable commercial use of the swastika and hammer and sickle.

    According to the Agency, the new bill provides for a fine of up to EUR 6.5 million for the use of signs, symbolizing the totalitarian regimes. The Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Semjen said that logo Dutch brewing company "clearly has political significance".

    Last spring, with the initiative of prohibition of the use in trademarks red five-pointed stars played deputies of the state Duma.

    Heineken, the brewing company with headquarters in Amsterdam, one of the largest in the world. The company is active in 70 countries.
