• The head of MI5 has described Russia as a threat to the UK

  • Russia represents a growing threat to the stability of the UK and uses an Arsenal of modern means to achieve their goals. This opinion was expressed by Director of the MI5 (counterintelligence), Andrew Parker in an interview with The Guardian.

    "Russia uses a number of state bodies to advance its foreign policy abroad increasingly aggressive methods, including propaganda, espionage, sabotage and cyber attacks," said Parker. According to him, Moscow's aims are military secrets, industrial projects, economic information, state and foreign policy.

    The Director of MI5 suggested that "Russia opposes the Western countries". He also noted that Russia "was a hidden threat for decades".
