FAS Russia initiated a case on violation of Antimonopoly legislation against "SIBUR Holding" and "Gazprom Gazenergoset '" (part of Gazprom). About it reads in a press release on the Agency's website.
In the FAS I suspect that the companies jointly maintained monopolistically high prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
"The case was initiated by results of consideration of the numerous appeals of individuals and legal entities for unjustified price increases at the retail and wholesale markets liquefied petroleum gas, and analysis of information exchanges and monitoring the prices of LPG," — noted in the message.
The head of Department of regulation of fuel and energy complex FAS Dmitry Makhonin said that the problems in the LPG market was caused by its unbalance, that is used in the formation of prices of non-existent indicator and a decline in the supply on the domestic market while simultaneously increasing export shipments.
"Within the framework of consideration of the case will be investigated in detail in this market and, in the case of infringement of the applied measures of Antimonopoly response," he said.
The FAS also stressed that "SIBUR holding" and "Gazprom Gazenergoset '" occupy a dominant position on the wholesale market for LPG, which is used as a motor fuel.
