Leninsky district court of Ivanovo convicted the former mayor Vyacheslav Sverchkov for a bribe of 12 million rubles. On Wednesday, may 17, reported the press service of the regional Prosecutor's office.
He was found guilty of receiving the head of the local government a bribe in especially large size. The court appointed Sverchkova five years in a strict regime colony. He also has to pay a penalty of twice the amount of the bribe, that is 25 million 520 thousand rubles.
The court found that in 2014 the mayor received from the businessman of not less than 12 million 760 thousand rubles for the allocation of land in the city Ivanov which was planned to install bus shelters with commercial areas.
In February 2016 at home sverchkova and his office were searched. He, along with businessman and Deputy of the city Duma by Sarraf Mammadov became the figurant of criminal case about a bribe, reported by regional site "ИвановоNews". According to investigators, Mammadov paid to the mayor not less than 12 million rubles for the allocation of its structures to rent 37 land plots.
