The mobile operator "VimpelCom" (brand "Beeline") was lost for the year almost a million subscribers. These data derive from reporting of the company for the third quarter of 2016.
In the third quarter, the subscriber base fell by two percent over the same period last year with 59 million subscribers to 58.1 million. In addition, the annual churn in the subscriber base has increased from 53.7 percent in the third quarter of 2015 to 55 percent in the third quarter of 2016.
At the same time for three months, the subscriber base of VimpelCom increased by 700 thousand users in comparison with the second quarter of 2016.
The decrease in subscriber base in annual terms, the company explains by increasing competition in the Russian market, as well as the sensitivity of customers to changes in prices due to the unstable macroeconomic situation.
The company expects that competition in the Russian telecommunications market will remain tight until the end of the year.

The main assets of Vimpelcom are 100 percent Russian mobile operator, VimpelCom, Ukrainian Kyivstar and Italian operator Wind Telecomunicazioni, and 51.7% of Global Telecom.
