• 79-year-old General sat behind the wheel of "Douglas" on aviaterminal in the suburbs

  • 79-year-old General Pyotr Deinekin has performed aerobatics on a military transport plane Douglas (the Douglas DC-3) in the aviation festival "afterburner" reports RIA Novosti.

    "The plane was piloted by the crew of the Hero of Russia General of the army Pyotr Stepanovitch Deinekina and test pilot 1st class Valentin E. Lavrent'ev," — said the Russian defense Ministry. It specified that the record belongs to the former commander of Distant aircraft the General-Colonel Vasily Reshetnikov, who piloted the bomber B-25 in ' 83.

    The RAID of General Deinekin born in December of 1937, is about five thousand hours. From 1992 to 1998 he held the post of chief of the air force.

    Aviation festival dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the aerospace defence forces of Russia, held at the Patriot Park in the suburbs. The celebration will perform all four of the aerobatic team of the air force "Swifts", "Russian knights", "Falcons of Russia" and "Berkut". In the flight program will take part of the restored aircraft first half of XX century, including "Farman", a Piper Cub, DC-3, Po-2, Il-2, MiG-3, MiG-15.
