The operation will take place in spring 2018, when the animals come out of hibernation. The study will involve female bears, said the head of "Reserves Taimyr" Victor Matusow.

    Yamal zoologists launched the tundra musk oxen 50 to replenish their endangered population. Imported from the Altai region in 1997 animals hitherto passed adaptation in semi-wild conditions under the observation of zoologists. They were kept in two fenced pastures.

The group, in addition to residents, will include hams from Tyumen, Norilsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Moscow. The end point of the expedition — the island Fernlea.
